Slightly Off Center Adventures is pleased to announce our upcoming Spring tour March 26 to March 31, 2017
Ever want to explore the home and landscapes of Georgia O’Keefe, soak in the hot water of natural springs on a early spring evening, linger in the museums of Santa Fe and dine in an authentic 1800s Hacienda? If your answer is yes, then consider joining ‘local wanderers’ Holly Tatnall and Victoria Atkins on this 6 day/five night adventure.
The trip begins with a two night stay at Ojo Caliente Resort and Spa. This off the beaten path gem in Northern New Mexico offers opportunities for hiking, yoga, soaking in the beautiful hot springs pools and optional spa treatments. We will stay in the historic hotel section of the resort, adjacent to the hot springs pools. Dinner is included on the first night of our trip at the highly rated hotel dining room.
On Day 3 we depart Ojo and head for Abiquiu and a tour of the Georgia O’Keefe home to experience first hand the home of a truly inspired artist. Santa Fe is then only a short drive away. We will have some free time in the afternoon after checking in for two nights at the Inn of the Governors within walking distance of the historic Plaza. Many fine restaurants are nearby.
Day 4 is museum day — focusing on the Georgia O’Keefe Museum in the morning and options for other Santa Fe museums or destinations in the afternoon. Note our hotel has a free “Tea and Sherry Hour” from 4 to 5 pm.
Leaving Santa Fe on Day 5 we will travel ‘The High Road to Taos’ to the small community of Chimayo — renown for El Santuario de Chimayo, a sacred pilgrimage destination especially during Easter’s Holy Week. We will stay one night at the historic Rancho de Chimayo Hacienda and dine on fine northern New Mexican cuisine right across the street at the Restaurante.
Day 6 is travel — returning to Cortez through Dulce and the Jicarilla Apache homelands with a optional stop at the Wines of the San Juan tasting room near Aztec.
