Virtual Event: Seeing White, a podcast discussion

June 22, 6:00 pm7:30 pm

We are pleased to announce a new collaboration with the Cortez Public Library, in which we will co-host a series of moderated, online community discussions about topics of profound importance for us all.

Please join us via Zoom for our first discussion, on June 22 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. We will discuss episodes 1, 2, and 3 of the audio series Seeing White, which is part of the Peabody Award-nominated podcast Scene on Radio, which is produced by the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. The Seeing White series examines the history and meaning of Whiteness—from the socially-constructed origins of race to the more recently-recognized phenomenon of white fragility, a term coined by author Robin Di Angelo.

Please listen to the series first, and then register for the free event: registration is required in order to receive the Zoom invitation. To register for this event call the Cortez Library at 970-565-8117 or email

You can access the episodes here, or in your favorite podcast app. (If using an app, please note that Seeing White is Season Two of the Scene on Radio podcast.)
