Welcome to the CORTEZ CULTURAL CENTER |
OPPORTUNITIESWe invite you to get involved and come join in the work we're doing at the Center. |
VOLUNTEERING AT THE CENTERThe Cultural Center has been blessed with the hard work, time, and treasure of countless volunteers from our community since its inception in 1988. Their dedication and willingness to pitch in wherever they were needed made it possible for the Center to continue its work to this day. The commitment of our current volunteers brought into being our Community Coffeehouse; carpenters, plumbers, electricians, artisans, and coffee aficionados all came together to create a space for conversation, meetings, and general inspiration. . . and our volunteer Baristas continue to create and invent delicious beverages designed for each season. There are many ways to volunteer at the Cultural Center, whether you’ve always aspired to be a barista, are interested in the arts and gallery exhibit installation, or just enjoy history and culture and sharing stories with others who come to visit. And, of course, there are always building and maintenance projects that need attention. Please contact aaron@cortezculturalcenter.org if you have time and/or ideas to share. | STUDENT INTERNSHIPS The Cortez Cultural Center has internship opportunities both during the school year and over the summer to provide high-school and college students with hands on experience in our Art Gallery, Community Coffeehouse, and Native American Dance program. We understand the value of experience when combined with education, and we have paid internship opportunities this summer to provide that experience. No background or previous experience is necessary—just a passion for the work that we do and a desire to be a part of it. We will do our best to help you curate an experience that will fit your unique areas of interest and will give you the tools to set yourself up for success. If interested, please contact aaron@cortezculturalcenter.org
